Here are the most frequently asked questions and their answers. Please take your time to review them to ensure you fully understand how we work and what we offer you. We provide stress-free service and know that you'll be arriving in a foreign country, and therefore, we'll ensure that your stay in Poland becomes an experience that you'll remember for a long time. Our services are second to none, and our team looks after you from the moment we pick you up from the airport till you complete the course, and we'll drop you safely back for your return flight.
Who can come and participate in our courses?
To join our courses, you must be at least 18 years old, fluent in English, have a clean criminal record, and be in good health. We welcome participants of all nationalities.
Please note that we conduct background checks through Intelligence Services and reserve the right to refuse participation without explanation.
Certain courses may require prior firearms training, so please review the prerequisites listed on the course page. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us for guidance.
Do I need to have a Firearms License to attend the course?
No, you don’t need a firearms license. Polish law allows anyone to use firearms on the range. During the course, you'll use our modern weapon systems, and we’ll provide all the necessary gear.
Who are our clients?
Our clients are mainly civilians looking to learn about firearms and self-defense. We offer beginner-friendly courses to help you become confident and skilled in handling firearms.
If you're an experienced sports shooter, practical shooter, or professional, our courses will refine your shooting accuracy, weapon handling, and reaction time. We also collaborate with self-defense schools to offer joint training.
Additionally, police officers and Military personnel often participate, offering a great opportunity to exchange experiences and network. We also run specialized courses for Police, Military, and Special Forces units.
Can I bring my firearms to BZ Academy courses?
Yes, you can bring your firearms! Many of our clients do. Just let us know in advance and ensure you have a valid European Firearms Pass. We will also issue an invitation letter to you.
Do you provide a translator on BZ Academy International courses?
All our courses are conducted in English, and we provide full customer support in English from start to finish.
It's real firearms - is it safe?
Safety is our top priority. All drills and exercises are conducted with safety in mind, tailored to the skill and comfort level of the participants.
Before any live practice, we ensure everyone understands the safety rules. Any participant violating safety protocols will be removed from the training.
How can I book my course and pay for it?
Booking is simple! You can pay a £150 deposit or the full course fee securely through our website using STRIPE. We accept all major credit/debit cards. The remaining balance can be paid via bank transfer at least five days before the course, or by cash or card on the day at our facility in Poland. A 3.5% fee applies to on-site card payments.

Please notify us after making your transfer, and ensure the payment is in GBP. You can also pay the full course price via bank transfer or in cash (EUR, GBP, USD, or PLN) on the day of the course.

Is my flight ticket to Poland included in the price?
No, the flight to Poland is not included. You'll need to arrange your travel to Wroclaw Airport. Once you arrive, we’ll handle the rest. If you travelling by car, we will email you the hotel address about a week before the course starts. The hotel location will be in Luban, Postal Code 59-800, POLAND.
Do I need to take any money with me?
Not necessarily. We cover all essentials, but if you'd like to buy snacks or souvenirs, around 100 PLN (approx. £20/€23) should be enough. Most shops accept cards, and you can withdraw cash at the airport, although we advise avoiding airport exchange counters due to high fees.
What if I can't come to the course and I have already paid my deposit. Is it refundable?
Your deposit is non-refundable, but you have six months to use it towards any other course from the BZ Academy schedule. If you would like to reschedule the course, this is possible only up to three weeks before the course starts. You need to book another course on a future date and pay the deposit again. Your already paid deposits will be contributed to the course price. If you cancel your course in less than three weeks, your deposit can not be contributed towards another course as we need to cover the hotel booking costs for you.
What documentation do I need to participate in the course?
It would be best if you had the following:

Document proving a transparent criminal background (e.g. criminal record check, firearms license, valid Military ID, valid Security license, etc. or eventually Self-Declaration on Criminal Background*). uk CITIZENS should use this link to obtain DBS Check: https://www.gov.uk/request-copy-criminal-record
Criminal Record Check should be no older than 6 months.

A document stating that the trainee is physically and mentally fit for the training (e.g. medical certificate from a family doctor/ GP, valid Military ID, valid security license, etc., or a Health Self Declaration Form)

Copy of a passport or photo ID (students have to be at least 18 years old. 16 years old can be accepted, but need to be accompanied by an adult)

A non-refundable advance deposit payment of £150
* If you choose to submit a Self-Declaration of a Clean Criminal Record, we will be required to run our own background check. An additional fee of £30 will apply, which will be added to your total at checkout.
We also recommend applying for the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or other private insurance just in case of emergency treatment at a hospital in Poland. It would be best if you had insurance in place.
What do I need to bring with me to your courses?
It depends on the course, so please read the course description general here is what we recommend:

We recommend Tactical Gloves for carbine courses involving Force on Force Training using FX Simunition.
You can also bring your tactical equipment such as ear and eye protection, holster, vest, mag pouches, tactical belt, etc.
What weapons will I use in the courses?
Depending on the course content, we'll use AR15/M4 Carbine, AK47 Kalashnikov, Glock 17/19, Glock 17T - FX Designated, and AR15 FX Conversion Kits.
What if I need a VISA to Schengen?
Please contact us, and we will provide you with an invitation letter. However, in this case, we need the FULL payment for the course in advance. If your visa application is refused, we'll refund your cost minus £50 administration FEE.
Would I be collected from the airport in Poland, and is the transfer included?
YES - collection and drop-off service is included, but we have specific times. For pick-up and collection time, don't hesitate to contact us directly as it depends on the group and their flight arrangements, but it's up to 19.00 one day before the course starts. We pick up from Wroclaw Airport ONLY.
What happens if my flight lands after your pick-up time ?
If you arrive after our scheduled pickup time, you’ll need to make your own way to the hotel in Luban. Public transport and taxis are available.
How far from the Airport is the training center?
It's usually a 1h - 1.5h drive depending on traffic.
What accommodation you provide?
We arrange comfortable double/triple rooms for participants depending on the availability. The sooner you book the course the better option we have.
Can I book a single room?
You can select the single room option during checkout, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request. However, please note that if you book late, single rooms may no longer be available. An additional fee of £50/60 EUR per night applies for a single room.
Can I drink alcohol during the course?
NO. Alcohol is prohibited during the course for obvious reasons - you will be working with live ammunition. We may perform an alcohol test before the course if we have a suspicion that someone is under the influence of alcohol. We reserve the right to refuse the participation of persons under the influence of alcohol in our courses.
Can I take photos or videos during the course?
NO. You need to focus on the course. There will be a photographer on the course who will take pictures that are going to be posted on social media after the course. If you want to take a photo with weapons and your friends etc during the breaks, there is no problem, but ask the main instructor first. We need to monitor photos of firearms for various reasons. Photos from the course will be publicized on Social Media after the course, so you can download them for personal use, but you do not have a license to edit them and change them in any way.
Would I get a certification at the end of the course?
Yes, all courses are certified by BZ Academy, but we believe the knowledge and experience you gain are even more valuable.
