This is an instructor development course, not a beginner pistol course. You should already be a safe, competent pistol shooter before attending.

01 Is this course suitable for beginners?

No. The Semi Auto Pistol Instructor Course is not a beginner course. It is designed for experienced shooters who already have safe pistol handling skills and want to learn how to teach pistol skills professionally.

02 What experience do I need before attending?

This course is open to experienced pistol shooters. Tactical Pistol Course is not mandatory, but you should already have live-fire pistol experience, safe weapon handling skills, confidence on the range and the ability to follow range commands safely.

We recommend completing Practical Pistol, Tactical Pistol or at least Combined Firearms Course Level 1 before attending this instructor course.

03 How long is the course?

The course runs for 5 training days. Training includes classroom work, live-fire range sessions, teaching assignments, student teach-backs, written assessment and practical instructor evaluation.

05 How much ammunition is included?

Approximately 1200 rounds of 9 mm ammunition are included. The final number of rounds may depend on the group level, progress, safety and course flow.

06 What tests do I need to pass?

Candidates are assessed through a shooting test, a theoretical written test and a group teaching test. These assessments are used to confirm safety, technical knowledge, communication and instructor ability.

07 Do I receive an instructor patch and certificate?

The BZ Academy Instructor Patch is awarded only to candidates who pass all required assessments, including the shooting test, theoretical test and group teaching test.

If a candidate completes the course and passes the required elements but does not pass the shooting test, they may receive a course certificate, but they will not receive the instructor patch.

08 What happens if I do not pass the tests?

If you do not pass the required assessments or do not meet the minimum instructor standard, you will not receive instructor certification. Depending on your performance, you may receive a course participation certificate instead.
